This moodboard draws inspiration from the 1920s showgirls and follies. Unlike today, they were dressed in very detailed outfits with lots of bling and texture. I would like to focus in on the elaborate head dresses from the time for my pattern and material direction. Place where woman could be independent and earn a wage, they were exploiting their bodies but it was in a way that gave honor to the to woman. Zigfeld created the show for the Chiago worlds fair but it ended up being a huge broadway hit and featured hundreds of girls.
